abstract

in this study, the genetic diversity among paecilomyces variotti isolaes was investigated. sampling was performed from pistachio garden in seven geographical region of kerman province during 2011-2012. seventy isolates were identified as p. variotii species using morphological criteria. the genetic diversity among 20 selected isolates was assayed by variation at ssr marker bands using 12 pair primers. the extracted genomic dna was amplified with 7 pair primers and pcr products were separated on an electrophoresis agarose gel. a total of 24 alleles were identified with an average of 3 alleles per primer combination. the mean of nei's coefficient among population was 0.62. the average of polymorphic information contents (pic) for the p. variotti ssr markers was 0.60. genetic relationships among isolates were represented by a dendrogram based on similarity coefficient matrix with upgma method. cluster analysis grouped the isolates into 5 major groups and a wide range of diversity across the tested isolates was found. the most distance was detected between zarand (var1) and rafsenjan (var15) isolates. these finding show that there are a week relation between subgrouped isolates and sampling regions. based on these results, we could conclude that ssr markers are suitable for illustrating levels of genetic diversity inward a population but not alone adequate for demonstrate a population structures and their related geographical regions.

Genetic diversity of Paecilomyces variotii isolates by SSR marker in Kerman province, Iran

Die-back disease caused by Paecilomyces variotti is one of the most destructive diseases of pistachio in Iran. In this study, genetic diversity of Paecilomyces variotti isolates was investigated with SSR marker, using six primers pairs. Sampling was done from pistachio gardens in different geographical zones of Kerman province during summer 2013. Various fungal isolates were isolated from infec...

phylogeography and genetic diversity of the lesser mouse- eared bat (myotis blythii) in iran

in current study, 63 samples of bat populations collected from differ regions were used for evaluating the geographic variations. twenty cranial and dental characters for traditional morphometric and landmarks method on the ventral, dorsal skull and mandible for geometry morphometric studies were used. statistical analyses of traditional morphometric and geometry morphometric data indicated low...

Paecilomyces variotii in peritoneal dialysate.

Four cases of peritonitis caused by the filamentous fungus Paecilomyces variotii in patients on continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis are reported. Removal of the Tenckhoff catheter and antifungal chemotherapy led to resolution of symptoms in all cases. Possible contaminating events are discussed, and reported infections with P. variotii are reviewed.

Extensive Genetic Diversity among Clinical Isolates of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in Central Province of Iran

Human tuberculosis caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) remains a significant disease in many countries. According to Iran's borders with Afghanistan and Pakistan, which are among the 22 high burden countries around the world, this study was conducted to analyze the current molecular epidemiology of tuberculosis and survey genetic diversity of Mtb strains in Markazi Province in center of ...

Genetic Diversity of Drug-resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis Isolates in Isfahan Province of Iran

Background Increasing drug resistance is an important factor in the complexity of tuberculosis (TB) control. The identification of disease transmission type, recurrence of a previous infection, or new transmission of the disease is the key factor in the control of TB. In this study, we aimed to identify the genetic diversity of drug-resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis isolates in Isfahan provi...
